Prince William Competing against Duchess Catherine in Sailing Regatta

Prince William is all set to compete against Duchess Catherine next month in the sailing regatta. The royal couple has 3 children, George, 6 years; Charlotte, 4 years; and Louis, 15 months and together they will be co-hosting the inaugural regatta on the Isle of Wight, the King’s Cup on 9th of August. Each of them is going to skipper a boat and will compete against others during the event.

There was an announcement on the website for the royal that the event is going to see the Duke and the Duchess compete against each other as skippers and will have individual sailing boats in the 8 boat regatta race. The team that wins is going to be given the King’s Cup which is a historic trophy that will be awarded by King George V.

The website also stated that the Royal Highnesses are hoping for the King’s Cup to turn into an annual event that brings greater awareness to greater benefits of sports. It can also raise funds and support for the cause which is supported by the Duke and the Duchess. This regatta is being organized with the support of the charitable causes of the royal couple and each of the boat that takes part in the race is going to represent 8 charities which are supported by the Duke and the Duchess.

The website of the King’s Cup gives out the message that 8 boats taking part in the regatta is going to represent one of the charities which are being supported by the Royal Highness this year. It is inclusive of Centrepoint, Child Bereavement UK, Tusk, and the 30th anniversary of the Air Ambulance Charity of London. The Duchess is going to support 4 of hers which includes, Place2Be, Action on Addiction, and The Royal Foundation.
